The Holt Forest Trust Scholarship

The Holt Forest Trust Deed provides for the establishment of a scholarship for one or more persons interested in study in the field of forestry science.

The Scholarship is to support study in all disciplines relating to the forestry industry including specific areas of saw milling, harvesting, processing and utilisation.

Mixed native planting in the General:

The Trust was established in the Hawkes Bay and whilst not a prerequisite, those applicants with an association with this area would be considered favourably.

The Scholarship is available for education in all aspects of forestry at a recognised institution at any level ie under graduate or post graduate. The Scholarship may be available for more than one year depending on successful applicants maintaining a satisfactory level of achievement.

Attached is an application form and more detailed information on the Scholarship. Applicants who detail the following are more likely to receive favourable consideration.

  • A completed application form Specify the sum sought
  • Provide budgeted details of cost of study
  • Outline any specific project or activity
  • A budget for any project proposed

Deadline:

  • Applications must be submitted on the approved application form. 
  • All applicants will be informed of the trustees decision. 
  • Applicants are considered by an Advisory Committee presently including a  representative from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the New Zealand Guardian Trust Company Limited.
